Redding Cal., Oct 1 – L. H. Zuver who came to this county with his wife and four children three months ago from Auburn Placer county, met his death in a peculiar and rather tragic manner today while in town from his present home, about two miles east of here. He was preparing to start home with two horses attached to a heavy wagon loaded with lumber. While he was in a blacksmith shop the horses took flight and started to run. Running out Mr. Zuver grasped the lines in an attempt to stop them. The nigh horse kicked with both heels, striking him over the heart and caving in his entire chest. He died within half an hour. Zuver never regained consciousness.
