Note: BIOGRAPHY: Mayflower Families, Vol. 6 Stephen Hopkins by John D. Austin;b. 26 Feb 1700/1 at Yarmouth, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts;
m. Thankful Snow 11 Apr 1723 at Eastham, Massachusetts; Mayflower Families, John D. Austin and Mayflower Families in Illinois by Viola Grace Gallup; d. 1756 at Plainfield, Windham Co., Connecticut. Joseph, his father and their wives were among the early members of First or East Church of East Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Resided at Yarmouth until ca. 1729 when they were at Rochester. After 1741 they moved to Plainfield Conn; ibid, by John D. Austin.
Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower has a line to the Burgess family through Thankful Snow's marriage to Joseph, born 1701, son of Joseph Burgess, son of John "Burge". John married Mary Worden, born 1639, daughter and granddaughter of Immigrants named Peter Worden. They are identified in the currently published "Royal Descents of 600 Immigrants", by Gary Boyd Roberts, as descended from William the Lion of Scotland. He may be a bit obscure (although his history is lively) but his royal line is in Macbeth (the good guys). Through maternal lines he (and those who latch on to him) are descended from Alfred the Great of England and the sister of William the Conqueror.
