The Will of Robert Elder, of Fannett Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, yeoman.
I give and devise the plantation I now live upon in the township, county and state aforesaid I give and devise the same unto my two sons Joseph and Samuel to be equally divided between them and I give and devise wife Mary all personal effects. I give and devise to my son Samuel all my moveable property after the death of my wife Mary. To my son David, all my waering apparel and forty pounds in cash and to son Abraham in Huntingdon County, forty pounds in cash and to my son John, thirty pounds in cash. To my son Robert, fifty pounds to be paid to him by the said Joseph and Samuel. And I also give to my son Matthew, three pounds five shillings to be paid to him by the said Joseph and Samuel and lastly I nominate and appoint my two sons Joseph Elder and Samuel Elder to be executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other wills by me made. In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 4th day of October, 1799.

Note: Whereas I John Elder of the county of Randolph State of North Carolina being of weak body but of sound mind & memory do this fifth of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand and Eight Hundred & Thirty Three make this my last will & testament in the following maner to wit

First my will is that all my just debts be paid

2 My will is That my lands be equally divided between my six sons to wit Thomas, James, William, Richard, John & Benjamin Elder excepting Fifty acres for my daughter Peggy lying in the south west corner of the plantation on which I now reside And also for my daughter Peggy a case of drawers

3rd My will is that all the personal property after paying all just debts excepting the Smith tools which I give to my son Benjamin & the Jonas Rex still which I give to my son John to be equally divided among all my children to wit Thomas, James, Richard, William, Elizabeth, Jane, Polly, Kasy, John, Benjamin & Peggy

4th I hearby appoint my son Richard & John Elder Executors to this my Last Will & Testament ratifyed & confirming this & no other to be my last will & testament Signed sealed ) & Delivered by the said John Elder ) John Elder Sr. ( seal )
